Pilot plants

The ITE High Voltage Laboratory has exceptional facilities for testing equipment linked to ITE R+D+I in areas of very high voltage and high current, impulsive. It has specialized equipment located in a controlled environment, since the temperature of the enclosure can be preset and controlled. In this way, the stability of environmental conditions can be guaranteed during testing and R+D+I projects.

We put at your disposal a laboratory accredited by ENAC, the body designated by the Spanish Administration to establish the accreditation system at national level, offering different services such as:

• Conditioning/aging tests. Climatic chambers, salt spray and simulation of a humid sulphurous atmosphere are used to observe how materials behave.
• High voltage dielectric tests. DC, AC, lightning-type and maneuver-type
• Current pulse tests. 8/20 µs and 10/350 µs
• Heating tests. AC current up to 500 A

These tests are aimed at:

• Companies supplying the electricity sector
• Manufacturers of capital goods,
• SMES
• Tractor companies: distributors and transporters

Thanks to the laboratory’s infrastructure (size, power, energy), it is possible to carry out innovative projects, since it allows validation of developments and proofs of concept for asset management and storage, among others.

The objective of the laboratory is both the certification of its products (laboratory accredited by ENAC. Tests under standard) and the validation and advice in the design and development of new products or modification of the same.
